Britt's Beta Reading

You've written the book. You've self-edited a bit (or a lot). You love it, but will anyone else?  

 

Beta readers are invaluable to authors. They see holes in the story that the writer can't see. They catch plot inconsistencies and notice when characters are a bit unlikeable. They also notice when scene drags on too long or when something is missing.

If you're anything like me, you both love and fear feedback. You want readers to love your story AND you want it to make sense outside of your head. You need beta readers, but where will you find them? Does it stress you out to ask your writing friends for favors? What if they are too busy to give you feedback quickly?
